STAFFORD — “Children who are read to at an early age are more successful in School” 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. We celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday Monday by singing Happy Birthday, reading “The Foot Book” and creating a beautiful caterpillar. Next Story Hour we will learn about “The Wizard of OZ.” Sandy has a fun activity making a poppy field and we will read a toddler version of the story of OZ.  Oz toys will add to the fun.

We are starting to schedule and get activities ready for Summer Reading at Nora’s Place. This year we are continuing our coordination with the Stafford Recreation Center. “Color Our World” is the theme. Sandy is going to turn the basement into another surprise adventure. Hint: Think of one of the most Colorful Places on our planet. A cautionary statement:  Our combined brains go to mysterious places! Stay tuned for dates in June and July.

I am looking forward to Jennifer Gleason’s program on Sourdough Bread. “I’ve been there and done that” several decades ago, but now I understand there is more to the bread than I ever knew. Come find out the science of sourdough and how it is beneficial to your body. Also try out a basket of tools to make your life better. It would be good to call ahead so we know how many to expect, but everyone is welcome.
