In an effort to strengthen intergovernmental relationships, encourage collaboration and continue advancing shared priorities for Barton County and the City of Great Bend, officials from each entity will assemble on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 p.m. at the Great Bend Events Center for a joint public meeting.
The City of Great Bend will be represented by Mayor Alan Moeder, council members and City Administrator Logan Burns. Barton County will be represented by Chairman Duane Reif, commissioners and County Administrator Matt Patzner.
The meeting’s agenda will include – but is not limited to – the topics of the Façade Improvement Program, sharing city and county resources, the Golden Belt Humane Society, KDOT U.S. 56 four-lane project, development projects, and legislation at the state level regarding valuation and property tax. These items of discussion are intended to guide open dialogue between city and county leadership.
Due to logistical challenges in transporting and setting up audio and visual equipment, the meeting will not be live streamed; however, the public is encouraged to attend in person.
At statement announcing the meeting adds, “The City of Great Bend and Barton County are looking forward to bringing everyone together for a productive and forward-focused conversation. Both entities are hopeful this meeting will lead to strong collaboration, the sharing of great ideas, continued growth in partnerships and meaningful progress that benefit the entire community.”
