Engaged and informed communities are the cornerstone of a healthy democracy. Community members in Great Bend and Hoisington are invited to submit questions or topics for the upcoming candidate forums via a Google questionnaire. This is your chance to help shape the agenda, ensuring that the topics discussed reflect the priorities that are important to you. 

Participation is open to all, with the option to remain anonymous; only forum committee members will see submissions. Submission deadlines: Sept. 19 for Great Bend (forum on Oct. 7 at the Events Center), and Sept. 26 for Hoisington (forum on Oct. 16 at the Friendship House).

After the deadlines the forum committee will review all submissions and select two questions for each candidate. These questions will be forwarded to the candidates before the forum allowing them to prepare their responses.

A link to the Google questionnaire is available on the websites and Facebook pages of the League of Women Voters of Great Bend (lwvgreatbend.org and facebook.com/LWVofGB) and the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce (greatbend.organd facebook.com/gbcoc). The races in Great Bend include Mayor, City Council Wards 1, 2, 3, USD 428 board, and BCC Trustees. The races in Hoisington include Mayor and USD 431 board.
