Controlled burn scheduled at Great Bend golf course
GB Rec logo

The Great Bend Recreation Commission is conducting a controlled burn at the Great Bend Golf Course over the next two days as part of ongoing course maintenance and improvement efforts.

This planned burn scheduled for Jan. 21-22 is a safe, carefully managed practice used to reduce the volume of dead/removed trees from the first phase of the golf course updates. Residents may notice smoke or increased activity in the area during this time.

Progress is already underway, and staff are encouraged by the early results. The controlled burn marks another positive step in enhancing course conditions and preparing the golf course for the upcoming improvements.

The Great Bend Recreation Commission appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as this important maintenance work is completed and looks forward to the continued improvements taking shape at the golf course.
