Barton County Core Community will be graduating its ninth class with nine core leaders on May 1 at 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 2123 Forest Ave. The public is invited to attend.

Core Community is a program that focuses on healing lives, solving poverty, and empowering communities for greatness through relationships, Core Community Liaison Janice Perez said. “At the heart, we are creating a safe place of unconditional love and non-judgment. In the safety of our community, all who come to the table are changed forever. It is a process and it is working!” She cited “multiple Core Families above the federal 200% federal poverty guidelines, home ownership, debt reduction and resolution, lives and generations forever changed, and so much more.”

Sponsors encourage and need others to join alongside them as they continue to grow and build this community. For ways to get involved or to donate to the program, call Jan Perez at 620-792-7995 or email janiceperez@essdack.org and join them at graduation to hear first-hand from graduates how Core has impacted them and their families.
