County commission to consider settlement with two former employees

Barton County has been involved with the development of a settlement agreement with two former employees. Those agreements will be considered when the Barton County Commission meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday. County Counselor Patrick Hoffman will present the details.

The meeting will be in the temporary commission chambers at 1500 Kansas Ave., the former J.C. Penney Building. The meeting will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams.

Other items on the agenda are:

• request for approval - added/abated/escaped/refunded taxes

• a resolution transferring and carrying over 2023 unexpended funds to the capital improvement and equipment replacement funds

• creating a new position for a part-time office assistant at Central Kansas Community Corrections.

Appointments scheduled after the close of the agenda are:

• 9:45 a.m. - Program update with Barry McManaman, county engineer

• 10:45 a.m. - Regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, county administrator.
