Praising her for her dedication and cheerful disposition, the Barton County Commission Wednesday morning presented the second quarter Employee Recognition Award to Pam Christendon, a custodian in facilities management, operations department.

The Employee Relations Committee recommends outstanding individuals for the Employees Recognition Award. Christendon was nominated, in part, for her “friendly demeanor, attitude and work ethic,” said Diana Watson, county administrative assistant and ERC member. 

“(The Facilities Department) is such a crucial part of the working system of the county. Pam is a critical part of this system and she does a fantastic job,” Watson said, reading from the form nominating Christendon. “She has an attitude and work ethic that benefit every office in the entire courthouse.”

“And, although I did not nominate her, I concur she is all of those things,” Watson said.  

“I really appreciate this,” Christendon said.

Other county officials added to the praise of the award recipient.

“I would agree with everything you just said,” said commission Chairman Shawn Hutchinson, District 3. “I’ve noticed that I’m always greeted with a smile by Pam and she is always, always staying busy.”
