All Park Elementary School families in Great Bend are asked to utilize the drop-off lane this week when transporting their children to school. Pull up as close to the curb as possible, and staff will assist students in exiting vehicles and entering the building. For safety reasons, refrain from allowing children to exit the vehicle until you have reached the designated drop-off spot and staff assistance is available. Attempting to exit the vehicle while waiting in line poses a significant risk of falls.
Additionally, refrain from parking at Dillons and having your children walk across the street, as the icy road conditions pose a significant hazard. While the drop-off lane may require patience and proceed at a slower pace, it is the safest option for all students and staff.
Furthermore, it is recommended that students wear tennis shoes or snow boots to school, as footwear such as Crocs, slippers, and cowboy boots can be hazardous in icy conditions. If it becomes necessary to modify pickup routine for safety reasons, staff will disseminate this information on Tuesday.
