Facade grants, KAC review on commission’s Tuesday agenda

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes Facade Improvement Grant applications, the Fiscal Year 2021 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program, the national opioid settlement and a Kansas Association Of Counties annual meeting review.

After the agenda meeting, the following appointments have been scheduled:

• 10 a.m. or following the close of the Agenda Meeting –  equipment bids for landfill – Phil Hathcock, solid waste director, and Dereck Hollingshead, information technology director.

• 10:15 a.m. – review of voice logger bids – Dena Popp, 911 director.

• 10:30 a.m. – CDC Drug Free Communities Grant – Marissa Woodmansee, Juvenile Services director, and Sue Cooper, grant coordinator.

• 11 a.m. – administrator search with Osenbaugh & Deardoff Consulting.

• 1 p.m. – Facade Improvement Grant application review – Sue Cooper, grant coordinator. 

• 1:30 p.m. – continued discussion reference partnership with Great Bend Economic Development – Sara Hayden, Great Bend Economic Development.

• 2 p.m. – Ellinwood sandpit expansion discussion. 

• 2:30 p.m. – regular business discussion – Barry McManaman, interim county administrator, and Donna Zimmerman, county clerk.

• 3 p.m. – insurance discussions – Matt Patzner, finance officer, and Freedom Claims Management representatives.
