Flu shots are available for anyone who needs one at The University of Kansas Health System Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic at St. Rose Medical Pavilion. Flu shots are also available by appointment at Great Bend Family Medicine at 1309 Polk St.
“To get a flu shot from our family medicine team, you must have a primary care provider at the practice,” said Kyle Zink, RN, ambulatory nurse manager. “If you don’t have a primary care provider, you can walk in at convenient care.”
No appointment is needed to get your annual flu vaccine at the walk-in clinic. Convenient care hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Fees for insured patients depend on their plan’s co-pay arrangements. “For those without insurance, the cost of the vaccine is $55,” Zink said.
“We encourage everyone to consider being vaccinated against influenza,” Zink said. “The vaccine has been shown to reduce the risk of serious flu complications that can result in hospitalization and even death.”
If you haven’t yet been vaccinated against COVID-19, now is a good time to do that as well. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently announced that it is safe to receive the flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time.
