Heart Walk will raise funds to save lives
Hoisington City 4-25-23
Hoisington City Council members discuss vacancies on the council at Monday’s meeting.

Heart of Kansas will host a Heart Walk for the American Heart Association from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St.

The first 50 donors that walk will get a complimentary light breakfast, said Flor Sanchez with Heart of Kansas in Great Bend.

Participants can register at the American Heart Association website, although at this time there is an issue with the link to the Great Bend event. For more information contact Sanchez via email at fsanchez@heartofkansas.com.

She said people need to be aware the date and event information on the website is wrong (the American Heart Association is trying to fix it) but the link is https://www2.heart.org/site/TR?fr_id=9004&pg=company&company_id=414230

Although Heart Walk is completely free, for every dollar donated a staff member from one of the Heart of Kansas clinics (in Great Bend, Larned and Stafford) will walk a lap inside if the donor doesn’t want to walk.

Raffle items will also be on-site.

February is Heart Month and the Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke.
