KBI, Rush County Sheriff’s Office investigating suspicious death in LaCrosse

RUSH COUNTY – Multiple law enforcement agencies are requesting the public’s assistance Saturday after a LaCrosse man was found dead in his home Friday afternoon under suspicious circumstances.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced Friday the agency, along with the Rush County Sheriff’s Office, are conducting an investigation after Leslie Randa, 61, was discovered deceased in his home, located at 205 E. 5th St. in LaCrosse. The KBI said in a release that preliminary indications are the death is a result of homicide.

Randa was found by a family member who then contacted 911 at 1:39 p.m. Friday. The RCSO the contacted the KBI for assistance with this investigation at shortly after 2 p.m. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response team responded.

Investigators said Randa’s vehicle, a black 2006 GMC Envoy with Kansas tag number 463HAE, is also missing. The front grill guard is chrome in color. Law Enforcement is requesting the public’s assistance locating the vehicle.

An autopsy will be performed Saturday, Jan 22. The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
