ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting.
The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Chairman Stanford called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner, and Todd Wycoff.
Commissioner Stanford convened the 2026 budget hearing. There were no citizens present and there were no comments. Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to approve the 2026 budget as presented. Motion carried 3-0. The budget hearing was closed.
Phillip Nusser, Road Department, presented information on the following KDOT proposed road classification changes due to traffic volume:
• NE 40th Ave from NE 70th St. to NE 100th St. to change from a local road to a major collector.
• Old US-50 from NW 20th Ave. to NE 40th Ave. to change from a minor collector to a major collector.
• NE 40th Ave. from Old US-50 N Jct. to Old US-50 S Jct. to change from a minor collector to a major collector.
• Old US-50 from NW 40th Ave. to Main St to change from a minor collector to a major collector.
Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to approve the proposed changes. Motion carried 3-0.
Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded to approve the minutes from the August 6th meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
Rob Murrow, Sheriff and Charlie Brown, Undersheriff met with the commissioners to discuss current activities in the Sheriff Department.
