ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood School/Community Library has several Makerspaces available for our patrons to utilize.  Last week we introduced bleeding tissue paper art to our youth, and now we are opening it up to our teen and adult patrons as well.  Bleeding tissue paper is perfect for collage, mosaics, flowers, paper sculpture, and many other craft and decorative uses. Water-soluble, the colors “bleed” when moistened, creating artistic effects similar to tie-dye. Stop at the circulation desk to inquire about this craft, and our staff will help to get you started. The bleeding tissue art in the pictures were created by our library staff:  Julie Blakeslee, Monica Hammeke, Melissa Long, and Treva Paden.

Sheri Holmes is the director of library and media services for the Ellinwood School and Community Libraries. She can be reached by email at sholmes@usd355.org.
