ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting.
The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, Sept. 10, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Chairman Stanford called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner, and Todd Wycoff.
Aaron Brinkerhoff, Optavise Benefit Advisers, met with the commissioners to discuss the supplemental insurance benefits offered through Washington National.
He discussed the different optional coverages for employees that the company offers and his interest in affiliating with Stafford County.
Cheryl Budge, County Appraiser, met with the commissioners to go over the 2025 Mid-Year Ratio Study for Stafford County. Stafford County is right in the mid-range of the Confidence Interval which indicates that our values are in line.
Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to approve the minutes of the September 3rd meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
Lissa Rhodes, Shasta Power Community Engagement, met with the commissioners regarding the solar project that Shasta is wanting to build in Stafford County. She indicated that the plan would be for construction to begin in the summer of 2026 with completion expected to be at the end of 2027. Discussion was also held regarding what the proposed benefits of the project would be to the local community.
A project programming request for a new bridge located on SE 60th St 6 miles south and .4 miles west of Stafford was presented. Commissioners signed the project request.
Accounts Payable Claims for Payment were reviewed and signed from the following funds:

EMS - $1,785.05
TOTAL - $14,031.29
