STERLING — High school students and their families are invited to experience life at Sterling College firsthand during Sterling College Snapshot Day, a campus preview event beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16. The free event will take place on the Sterling College campus, with check-in starting in Cooper Hall, the college’s historic “Old Main.”
Snapshot Day is designed to give prospective students and their families an up-close look at what it’s like to be a Sterling College student. The day will include a guided campus tour, opportunities to meet with professors, coaches, directors, and current students, and lunch in the campus dining hall, known as the “Caf.” There is no charge to attend.
Located in the heart of Kansas, Sterling College is a Christ-centered, four-year liberal arts college known for its strong academics, competitive athletics, and vibrant arts programs. Sterling has built a reputation as a place for students who want to be actively involved – whether that’s on the football field, in the theatre, in the music ensemble, or through leadership and service opportunities.
“Sterling is a place for doers,” college representatives say. “Students don’t just watch from the sidelines – they jump in, discover what they love, and often find new interests along the way.” From overseas mission trips and student leadership roles to joining a choir, performing on stage, or participating in intramural sports, students are encouraged to explore and grow.
For sophomore Chandler Reiman of Kinsley, attending a visit day made all the difference.
“I didn’t know much about Sterling College until I came to a Visit Day and got to meet the Theatre Director, Forensics Coach, and several students,” Reiman said. “Getting a tour and having the chance to really connect with people made the difference for me. Based on that day and everyone I met, I chose Sterling and I am thankful I did.”
