The winner of a Chevy Trax ACTIV will be chosen at the upcoming Sunflower Diversified Services Pancake Feed. Tickets are available in advance and at the event.

The 22nd Annual Sunflower Diversified Services Pancake Feed will not only offer an all-you-can-eat meal, participants also have the chance to get in on the raffle for a brand-new vehicle.

The event, which benefits people with special needs, is set for 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 3 at the Prince of Peace Parish Center, 4100 Broadway, Great Bend. Cost for the Chris Cakes pancake-and-sausage dinner is $8.

Raffle tickets for the Chevy Trax ACTIV will be sold until 6:40 p.m.; the drawing is set for five minutes after that. They sell for $25 each or five for $100. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win the vehicle, which is valued at $26,429.

Tickets are still available in advance at Westside Market, 5523 10th, or at Sunflower’s website, www.sunflowerdiv.com.

“We had a great response to our first vehicle drawing a couple of years ago,” said Cody Harris, Sunflower director of Planned Giving and Community Support. “We trust our supporters will make this year’s vehicle raffle a success too.

“Thanks to our generous supporters throughout central Kansas, the pancake dinner has always been popular,” Harris added. “The event promises a fun evening and a great meal.”

NexTech and Abbey Carpet & Floor are co-sponsors of the event, while DJ Donald Hawes will entertain.

All proceeds from the dinner and raffle directly benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities and delays.

“Insurance and grants finance many of Sunflower’s services and programs,” Harris commented. “However, these revenues fall short of meeting all the needs of the individuals we serve.

“This dinner, raffle and other fundraisers throughout the year help pay for dental care, adaptive equipment and much more. Those who donate can be assured that individuals with special needs and our dedicated staff greatly appreciate the support of all the communities in our five-county service area.”

Sunflower serves infants, toddlers and adults in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties. It is in its 59th year.
