Barton County District Judge Carey Hipp administered the oath of office to the county’s elected officials on Monday, Jan. 13, in Courtroom A at the Courthouse. Shown here are the newest elected officials: County Attorney Colin Reynolds, District Judge Levi Morris and Register of Deeds Susan Williams.

 The oath, required by the State of Kansas, states that the employee will uphold the Constitution of both the United States and the State of Kansas. Officials who were re-elected in November 2024 were also sworn in: Sheriff Brian Bellendir, County Clerk Bev Schmeidler, Judge Lisa Beran and County Commissioners Barb Esfeld and Shawn Hutchinson.
