A child’s brain develops most rapidly before the age of 3, which is why our Story Hour group on Monday is participating in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

The young families were thrilled to receive a book bag, their first 100 books sticker sheet and stickers to reward the kids for the books they listened to. These families were already very into reading to their children and knew the importance of sharing time reading a story. The program just supports and acknowledges the importance of reading with research based facts. It’s a Win - Win!

Reading for adults is also important. Mental health, emotional stability and entertainment are all improved with reading daily. That is why I am looking forward to sharing our Recently Read books at the library on Tuesday at 5:30. Come share what you are reading and gather ideas for new books and authors to pursue. It will be a fun & relaxing time.

Sandy has all our new Large Print Books on the shelves and ready for you to enjoy. You might not NEED large print but keep in mind they also represent 128 new titles and famous authors that everyone can enjoy. Come check them out.
