Phillips Southern Electric Company set up traffic control on Monday with anticipation of potentially starting work next week at the U.S. 56 and Mckinley intersection to replace the signal equipment.

They have set up traffic control to reduce westbound traffic to one lane on U.S. 56 at the intersection and on Mckinley Street the eastbound turn lane has been blocked at the intersection. Anticipate changes in traffic control as the project progresses.

The work is expected to take at least two months, depending on the weather and unforeseen circumstances. Motorists are asked to be attentive and aware as crews work to make repairs in the area.

A statement from the City adds, “Thank you for your patience.”
