Cardinal breaks record

HESSTON — Hoisington Cardinal senior runner-up Tristin Compton broke a school record (20:22.2) Thursday at the Hesston cross country meet. Hesston's Reese Quinn (19:53.4) won the girls senior race.

Hoisington's multi-year state qualifier Brody Rossman (16:55.7) placed runner-up in the boys senior division behind Cheney's Stratton Young (16:35.7).

Cardinal Jensynn Williams (22:10.1) placed runner-up in the ninth-grade girls division behind Ellsworth's Mazie Barta (21:40.5).

Central Plains freshman Weston Zink (19:11.1) places fourth.
