The Ellinwood School/Community Library is officially back home at the Ellinwood MS/HS, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome our patrons back!
Last week, we made the transition back to our home base. Although we didn’t have air conditioning right away, we were excited to get settled in and prepare for our patrons. Now, we’re especially happy to say that the air conditioning is up and running! After experiencing the heat without it, we have a whole new appreciation for something we sometimes take for granted. Cooler temperatures inside the library have definitely made this week a little more comfortable, and we’re grateful!
We want to welcome everyone back and say how much we look forward to seeing you. We’ve had a wonderful summer, but we’re ready to kick off a new school year and head into the fall season. With school beginning on Thursday, Aug. 20, we’re especially excited to see our students and youth back in the library. And while the thought of cooler fall weather is certainly a dream right now, having a cool library is a great reality!
New School-Year Library Hours
With the start of the school year, our hours have changed. Please make note of our new schedule:
- Mondays and Wednesdays: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Fridays: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Saturdays: Beginning after Labor Day, we will be open the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. – noon, throughout the school year.
We hope these hours will provide plenty of opportunities for our students, families, and community members to stop by and take advantage of all the library has to offer.
A Reminder About Facebook Comments
We also want to bring an important change to the attention of our patrons. Due to a new state law affecting schools, comments have been turned off on our library’s Facebook page. You may have noticed that you are no longer able to comment on our posts.
We want to make sure we follow the appropriate protocol and remain in compliance with the law. Although comments are no longer available, we still want to hear from you! If you have a question, concern, suggestion, or simply need to visit with us, please give the library a call at 620-564-2306.
As we settle back into our home at the Ellinwood MS/HS, we are looking forward to another great school year. Thank you to our patrons for your patience and support during our transition, and thank you for making the Ellinwood School/Community Library such an important part of our community.
Welcome back, Ellinwood and surrounding communities! We are ready for a great school year!
