Barton Community College started a guitar class/ensemble this fall that meets on Wednesday evenings. The ensemble performed holiday music Friday at the Great Bend Senior Center. Their next performance will be at the BCC Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted. This holiday extravaganza will also feature the Barton Concert Choir, Hilltop Singers, JazzCats, and Barton Dance Theatre. The evening will include the induction of faculty and alumni into the second year of Barton’s Fine and Performing Art’s Hall of Fame. For more information about guitar classes, contact Gonzalez at gonzaleza@bartonccc.edu.
Barton Community College’s String Ensemble performed holiday music last Friday at the Great Bend Senior Center. Conductor Jamie Minneman joined the guitar ensemble, which also performed. There are no orchestra classes until spring, so the string ensemble was created to give those students a chance to play music in a chamber ensemble setting. They will also perform at the Dec. 4 concert in Barton’s Fine Arts Auditorium.
