The Barton Community College Theatre Department will hold two nights of auditions for its spring production of the musical “SpongeBob SquarePants,” from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 11 and 19 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Those interested in auditioning only need to attend one of the audition dates. All roles and technical positions will be cast during auditions to people ages 14 and older. Attendees will perform a cold reading and a song. They will also be asked to learn a short piece of choreography. No prior preparation is necessary.

The “SpongeBob SquarePants Musical” involves acting, singing and dancing. It is based on the popular Nickelodeon animated series, and the original production earned 12 Tony nominations when it opened on Broadway. 

The story follows the undersea characters of Bikini Bottom as they work together to save their home from a volcanic eruption. The production is suitable for all ages. The show dates will be March 5-8.
