The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday rescinded the boil water advisory for the City of Bunker Hill public water supply system located in Russell County.
The advisory took effect on Nov. 7 after a water line break that caused a loss of pressure in the distribution system. KDHE officials said failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination. The advisory remained in effect until laboratory testing of drinking water samples indicated no evidence of bacteriological contamination and any other issues were resolved.
