The Great Bend City Council will be asked to approve the purchase of prefabricated restrooms for Langrehr Field at the Sports Complex when it meets Monday.

Through the Quality-of-Life sales tax initiative, Langrehr Field bathrooms were set to be a project from the Capital Improvement Plan in 2025 with a total cost of $200,000. With the recent decision to table plans for an addition at Brit Spaugh Park, another Quality-of-Life project, city administrators propose moving the Langrehr Field project up to this year.

According to agenda materials, the city obtained a Sourcewell preferred vendor quote from CXT for $90,093 and recommends council approval.

The quote is for a Cortez model with dimensions of 10 feet, 3 inches by 17 feet. It has two single-user fully accessible flush restrooms with simulated barnwood textured walls, simulated cedar shake textured roof, vitreous china fixtures, interior and exterior lights and a 4-gallon water heater, off-loaded and set up at the site. The price includes added options for electric hand dryers, exterior mounted ADA drinking foundation, door closures, times electric lock system and an exterior frost-proof hose bib with box. The total quote comes with shipping and engineering fees.

The quote does NOT include site preparation, rough-in plumbing, sidewalks or connection to utilities. The city will obtain quotes for the additional work after the purchase is approved, taking into account the lead time of 120-150 days.

If approved, the plan is to place the prefabricated restrooms just to the north of Langrehr Field to tie into the sewer on Second Street and to allow for easy access to the facility without crossing the parking lot.
