STAFFORD — With the colder weather it feels we are fully into the Holidays. It was good to meet up with daughter Jordan and her husband Josh at The Barnin Burton Friday. Great food and a very fun place to eat!

Last week was a fun week, starting on Monday when Destiny Johnson brought her new baby, Annlee, to story hour. We had four children come even though it was raining. They enjoyed socializing and playing with toys. Tuesday, Recently Read met and shared the books that they had read that month. We will not meet again till January. Wednesday, two families brought grandchildren to have a Bear Hunt and play in the Children’s Room. It’s so great that all ages are coming to the library!

Books shared at Recently Read:

• “The Frozen River” by Ariel Lawton

• “Waves of Mercy” and “Legacy of Mercy” by Lynn Austin

• “The River is Waiting” by Wally Lamb

• “The Wrong Heart” by Jennifer Hartmann

• “One Perfect Lie” by Lisa Scottoline

• “The Book Club for Troublesome Women” by Marie Bostwick

• “Hosea’s Wife”

It is hard to believe that it is December! I remember in fifth grade when I argued with Mr. Frank Sherman, my 5th grade teacher, at Zenith Grade School. He stated that the days go faster when you get older. Of course I had to argue that there are 24 hours a day no matter how old you are. Each year as the days go faster I realize how right he was.

December will be the last month for this collection of rotating books. Come find a favorite before they are returned to South Hutchinson. Three hundred and fifty new books will come in January.

We are expecting some new books this week with money from a grant from Golden Belt Community Foundation. This grant provides us with $3,600 for new books for our Recently Read and Preschool ages. It has been a joy choosing new books for the two groups.
