The Great Bend Planning Commission’s latest proposed solar regulations within the 3-mile jurisdiction of the city will come before the Great Bend City Council when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at City Hall. The council meeting will be livestreamed for the public to view on its Facebook page, https:www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/.
Items on the agenda include:
• Adoption of Ordinance 4451, regulating solar energy conversion systems.
• Councilmembers reports, administrator’s update on what is happening within the City organization and Community Coordinator Christina Hayes’ monthly report.
• Abatements.
• Renewal of Kleen Smart’s one-year contract for cleaning services at the Justice Center.
• Extending the one-year contract for veterinary services at the Zoo with Dr. Mike Malone.
• Approval to purchase a wireless X-ray system that is compatible with the current X-ray device used by Dr. Malone at the Zoo, for $25,845. Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo Director Ashley Burdick will report.
• Approval of a contract with JEO Consulting Group Inc. for the Pavement Management Plan for the City’s 150 centerline miles of streets. The total project cost is $65,100, with funds coming from the quarter-cent sales tax. The project is expected to take four months. Public Works Director Jason Cauley will report.
• An executive session with the governing body, city administrator and City Attorney Allen Glendenning to seek legal advice for pending legal matters.
• An executive session to discuss personnel matters.
