Stafford Counting revising solar regulations

ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting.

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Chairman Stanford called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner, and Todd Wycoff.

Cheryl Budge, Appraiser, met with the commissioners to discuss the status of a value hearing issue. She gave details regarding the Stafford County hearing postponement and the outcome of a hearing in another county. When the hearing is rescheduled she will update the commissioners again. She also gave an update on current activity in her office.

Carl Miller, Planning & Zoning, met with the commissioners to update them on the activity of the Zoning Commission. He explained that the commission is working on making some revisions to refine the solar regulations and to eliminate any inconsistencies. There will be a couple more zoning commission meetings to complete the revisions and to finalize the regulations. When that process is complete a public hearing will then be held.

Commissioner Garner moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to recess to executive session pursuant to the non-elected personnel exception to discuss a non-elected personnel issue returning to open session at 10 a.m. Motion carried 3-0. Those present: Commissioners, Carl Miller, County Clerk, County Attorney.

Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Garner seconded, to approve the minutes from the Oct. 29th meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
