American Legion Auxiliary selling tickets for 15th Hawaiian Luau

Courtesy photo Tickets for this patriotic quilt will be sold during the 15th Annual Hawaiian Luau fundraiser at the American Legion in Great Bend. The raffle drawing will be Nov. 21.

The American Legion Auxiliary will hold their 15th Annual Hawaiian Luau fundraiser on July 25 at 1011 Kansas Avenue in Great Bend. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Early tickets at $20 and can be purchased after 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the American Legion. Tickets are $25 at the door the night of the event.

Dinner will be Rick Munsch’s smoked ribs, pulled pork and chicken. Sides will be provided by the auxiliary.

The Locals band will play at 8 p.m.

A live auction will be held before the dance and a silent auction will start when the doors open at 5:30 p.m. and run until about 8 p.m.

Proceeds go to helping veteran organizations, Fort Dodge Soldiers Home and Golden Plains Quilts of Valor who make a one-time quilt for a veteran.

A patriotic quilt, made by Marcia Toennessen, will be raffled off Saturday, Nov. 21. This quilt will be displayed and raffle tickets will be available at the luau and are $1 a ticket or 6 tickets for $5. You don’t have to be present to win. The winner will be picked after their Quilts of Valor presentation on Nov. 21.
