Stafford Commission wraps up 2025

ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the final Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting of 2025.

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Chairman Stanford called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present; Jim Stanford, Bryce Garner, and Todd Wycoff.

Shannon Snyder, Health Department Director, presented her department employee evaluations to the commissioners along with pay scale adjustment requests. Shannon also advised that she had applied for and received a Safe Sleep Mini Grant which will allow the Health Department to provide pack and plays to clients again next year. Minor repair issues at the building were also addressed, She also advised that another fall prevention class will be done this coming year and that with funds from the Injury Prevention Grant she has purchased canes that will be distributed to the city senior centers.

Gina Schwein, Communications Director, advised the commissioners that she has filled the vacant full-time position in the communications department.

Chairman Stanford recessed the meeting at 8:45 a.m. Meeting was reconvened at 9:15 a.m.

Ryan Witt, Noxious Wead Director, met with the commissioners to discuss the possibility of him going to a schedule of four ten, hour days per week. As Ryan is paid on a salary basis and most of his work is contingent upon weather conditions, the commissioners are fine with this schedule as long as he gets in 40 hours and the work is completed.

Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Garner seconded, to approve the minutes of the Dec. 17 meeting. Motion carried 3-0.

Commissioner Wycoff moved, and Commissioner Garner seconded, to approve the presented tax roll corrections. Motion earned 3-0.
