A public budget hearing for Barton County is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Suite 106 at the Barton County Courthouse. The Commission meeting will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign in or by signing in “anonymously” at the link https://bit.ly/4tXV2oj.

After the close of the public hearing, the commissioners will adopt the 2027 Barton County operating budget. Other items on the agenda are capital improvement and equipment replacement plans and a renewal of the county’s service agreement with Southwest Developmental Services Inc. as the Community Developmental Disability Organization.

The commissioners may attend the county-fire fire chiefs meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoisington Activity Center.

Another agenda meeting is planned for 10 a.m., for the public budget hearing for Fire District No. 1.

The commissioners will continue business discussions after the close of the agenda meetings.
