Stafford County mulls EMS policies

ST. JOHN — These are the minutes from the Stafford County Board of County Commissioner meeting.

The Stafford County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, June 17, in the Commission Room in the Annex. Vice-Chairman Wycoff called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Todd Wycoff and Jim Stanford.

Misty Rudy, EMS Director, met with the commissioners to present a draft of a new inter-facility transport policy for EMS. The policy addresses criteria such as ambulance crew staffing and safety, time and distance, and weather conditions in determining if a transfer request is accepted. The commissioners approved the draft presented which will be forwarded to Stafford County Hospital for review and discussed at the June 24 commission meeting.

Carl Miller, Planning & Zoning, gave the commissioners an update regarding activity with the Planning & Zoning Commission. He also advised that Mitch Minnis’ term has expired, and Daryl Lucas joined the commission for a three year term. All other commission members remain the same.

Commissioner Stanford moved, and Commissioner Wycoff seconded, to accept the minutes of the June 10th meeting. Motion carried 2-0.
